                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS DOWNTOWN STREETS MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON SATURDAY,
                   SEPTEMBER 26, 1992 FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 9:30
                   A.M. FOR THE "SYMPHONY CLASSIC 5K ROAD RACE"
                   SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA SYMPHONY AND
                   OPERA GUILD, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                                                    
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the two southbound lanes of Chestnut Street
       between 6th Street and M. L. King Boulevard, the southbound curb
       lane of Carter Street between M. L. King Boulevard and Main
       Street, the westbound curb lane of Main Street between Chestnut
       Street and Riverfront Parkway, the northbound and eastbound curb
       lane of Riverfront Parkway between Main Street and Chestnut 
Street
       and the southbound curb lane of Chestnut Street between 
Riverfront
       Parkway and 6th Street on Saturday, September 26, 1992 from 8:00
       a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for the presentation of the "Symphony Classic 
5K
       Road Race" under the sponsorship of the Chattanooga Symphony and
       Opera Guild provided that the sponsor shall set out traffic 
cones,
       flasher barricades, and warning signs in accordance with the
       traffic control plan attached hereto and shall provide, at all
       times, an access lane for emergency vehicles.
